Hi,
I'm an amateur at web development, and have a situation I'm not sure how to implement.

I have a client who is a private investigator. He would like a separate password for each of his clients, where they can log on to his site, enter their password, and view documents specific to them. We need to have the capability for him to upload the documents himself (he's not too computer savvy) for his clients to view, instead of having to email them to me and have me doing all the uploading. I don't know how to set this up. I know Blue Host has password protected directories, but the only way I know how to do this would be for me to create the links to these documents and upload them as they come in. This however defeats the purpose of having him being able to upload them himself. Any ideas? Here's the site I've created for him: www.davisbackgrounds.com (http://www.davisbackgrounds.com). Any help would be so greatly appreciated.

Hi again Taryn,

I have a client that wanted the exact same thing. After searching for days to find a free script, I settled on buying one...

http://www.scriptscenter.com/ezupload/

Works great, client has limited computer knowledge, and will do what you want.

I'd be interested in hearing from other people in this forum for another solution!

Hopfully you're not too amatuer and you know some php scripting. Then you can find a few scripts at http://hotscripts.com . go to php then scripts, search under filemanagment or such

No doubt, Vegasgwm. I must have spent 20 hours sifting through hotscripts. Finally I just gave up and bought one.

Which brings me to my next point in web development wisdom...

20 man hours wasted looking for something free, 10 minutes to find a script and pay for it. Grin. And no php code chasing me and haunting me in my dreams.

I once dreamed that fopen was chasing $dbconnect, and when they saw me, they turned me into an array!
