So, a friend of mine registered a domain at GoDaddy.com. As a favor, I'm going to design his site and temporarily host it at my bluehost domain, boxmediasolutions.com. I want it to be accessible when someone types in his domain name. I assume I can set this up as a sub domain with my bluehost domain, but I'm not sure what steps I need to take to make this happen.
Can anyone help?
Thanks!

Change his domains name server to ns1.bluehost.com and ns2.bluehost.com
Then add the domain to your account iusing "Add-On Domains" option in cPanel.

I'm like the writer of this question but the add-on domains are ones I own as well.
I looked at the add-on domains panel but left there scratching my head... then I went thru the 'getting started' tutorial but it didn't cover add-ons (I did set up the webdisk which is something I wish we had when I started with Bluehost a couple years ago!)
I know I should have searched the forum before I posted this message, but I'm looking for an explanation or at least an example of what to put in the blanks and what they mean.
Thanks.

Hi,
How do you setup an alternate location for subdomains?
Currently, cPanel offers a text box to put in a different location. However, it always defaults to within the www root:
/home/artistl1/public_html/public_<subdomain>
It may help secure things if the subdomains were not within the root for www.
Does anyone else have an opinion about where would be a good place to store subdomains?
For example, my vision would look like this:
www.<domain>.com -> /home/<userID>/public_html/
wiki.<domain>.com -> /home/<userID>/public_wiki/
Not like this:
www.<domain>.com -> /home/<userID>/public_html/
wiki.<domain>.com -> /home/<userID>/public_html/public_wiki/
Also, there is a link in the user's home directory called www, which points to the www subdomain location. Why is this not needed for additional subdomains?
-thanks

They way the server is set up, you cant. Directory of sub domains cannot be changed.
