Hello,
I just joined and I want to use Sitebuilder, but I don't want to use one of their templates. I would like to create my own site in Sitebuilder, with a blog from Wordpress (I have downloaded Wordpress but have no idea how to access it) some static content, some email addresses and a forum. Is there someone who would be so kind as to help me get started?

I am in the same position as you are.

So far I have had some success figuring stuff out.

I clicked on fantastico in the user cp, and installed wordpress from there. Dead easy, and live instantly. Only three go's to get it right.

The basic wordpress has static pages ready to go too.

email addresses were the first thing I set up from the cp. The info for your email client is all there, and I got it right first time.

As for site builder, I tried it, but I will build pages off line I think. BTW Seamonkey from mozilla.org has a handy html composer/editor as part of its all in one internet app. I am also going to try downloading free templates for my web site.

Unless it's been greatly improved in the last 6 months-1 year, I'd say, don't waste *any* of your time with the site builder.

It worked really well for me for a little while and then all of a sudden it started rearranging all of the work I'd done. I spent hours learning to use it and working on it (I am a beginner) only to have it become a big cluttered mess of absolutely nothing. I called bluehost support and was basically told that it "has limitations but it is a "WYSIWYG", "What You See Is What You Get". It kind of sounded like an apology. He did however direct me to NVU, a free, easy to use website builder.

NVU worked okay for me and I also used that "Fantastico thing" for a template in the main menu.

My site isn't great (or even good for that matter), and I'm not really ready to "advertise it" with what's on their now but, it's there if you want to check out what a complete beginner can do with NVU and Fantastico.

Best of luck!

What's the "site builder"? I have used "SiteBuilder 2" as provided by Yahoo! and while it's not the greatest, it does let one create rather nice navigation bars and buttons. I can't afford Dreamweaver. I know html but I'm not a programmer (don't have the attention span for it!). I need some navigation buttons (I guess text links would do), so which of the applets under Fantastico might work for me? PageWizard didn't look too impressive.
