Can you tell me how to change the header for the viper guestbook. So when someone enters the guestbook it can say something more than guestbook...for instance "Family Guestbook." I have looked but I am unable to locate where to change this information. This is the first time I am using this guestbook.
Thank you.

It's been a long long time since I did the Viper setup for my guest book. What you want to change is really an image.gif.
In your public_html -
yourdomain/public_html/guest/templates/body.php
There you will find the guestbook.gif (or whatever they call it) replace that with a gif that you want, put the picture in the img directory and that should do it.
ALWAYS BACK UP BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING!!!!!
I had an awful time doing mine and have upgraded versions of Viper Guestbook since then, so please check these steps carefully!
Look at:
http://vetstribute.com/guest/index.php
that's mine
GOD Bless,
Beti;)
P.S. - be careful about double posting, makes people here cranky :)

The Viper guestbook is great, but unfortunately is a magnet for spammers. I have one on my site, and I recommend the following:
1. Place the guestbook in a separate directory.
2. Adjust your robots file to make sure that google and other legitimate search engines do not find it - that's how spammers seem to locate it.
3. Every couple of weeks move/rename the guestbook directory. The spammers are left with Error 404's. You will of course need to adjust all other links to the guestook on your site, which is easy with most html authoring programs.
4. Block all IP's from China, India, and Russia - this should be standard practice for all North American websites until those countries get their act together (in my opinion and experience).
Cheers,
Frank
