Is there a way to create a subfolder to the Inbox? Not as top-level folders, but as subfolders. Example:
Inbox
--Folder1
--Folder2
Sent
and not like:
Inbox
Folder1
Folder2
Sent

And how is the mail supposed to know what folder it is supposed to arrive in or should it be randomly distributed? The inbox is where the mail to the account arrives. If you want to sort it you have to move it out of there to where ever you want to move it to.

He's probably trying to emulate what you can do in an email client program like Outlook, where you can have subfolders within the inbox - makes for a nice organization of things. (I use rules to do some sorting of the incoming stuff.)
The answer, of course, is to use an email client program instead of Horde or Squirrel.

All incoming mail arrives in the inbox (a single location). From there you can have filters set up that move selected emails out of that folder into another folder that you have set up in your email program to collect the emails that match to selected criteria. Whether those folders are physically stored inside the inbox folder or are stored elsewhere does not affect the way that the filtering process works. If you use Outlook you can put the folders inside the inbox, if you use anything else then they go outside the inbox but work exactly the same way. The reason for the difference is that Outlook stores all of your emails in one file and the folder structure only exists within the email program itself while other email programs use separate files for each folders emails and since you can't put a file inside a file they can't nest other folders inside the inbox.
