Hi,
I tried to add another domain name to point to a sub directory, why is it having me doing all that transfer domain name stuff? Why can't I just add the domain name and change my registrar dns to point to ns1.bluehost.com
Anyone know how to do this without having to do the transfer stuff. and I don't know it seem like the transfer stuff charge $10 for one year?
Please help
thanks

The Add-on domain script built into cPanel assumes that you have the domain already pointing to BlueHost before you define the folder it is to point to. If you want to set up the site on BlueHost first and transfer the domain afterwards then contact BlueHost support and ask them to set up the add-on domain for you. They will ask for details of the domain you want to set up, what folder you want it in, and also details of how you pay for your hosting (in order to prove that the account belongs to you).

Thank you for the reply.
I tried to use the addon domain. but it is not working.
my questions is
1. Do i need to transfer my domain to bluehost in order to use their addon domain name?
2. Can I just change the name server to ns1.bluehost.com
I'm kinda confuse to bluehost. I thought I can just add domain name and created the sub directory where each domain goes. and just point my new dns to them.
is this true? Pleae give me some help someone

As long as the nameservers point to BlueHost it doesn't matter where the domains are registered. There are a lot of domains that can't be transferred to BlueHost because BlueHost only handles registrations within about half a dozen of the nearly 300 top level domains.
