well this guy i know on the internet want to help me with my site. I do trust him but is there a way i can give him access to my site without him being able to delete stuff.

The reason i want him to have access is to edit things on my phpbb forum :)

// thanks for your help in advance

No. If you give him access to cPanel, then he will have access to everything on your account. If he does not need access to cPanel, then you can set up an FTP account for him so that way he will only be able to access those files you set.

You can set him up with Moderator level access in phpBB without needing to give him any other access to anything else. As a moderator he will be aboe to perform certain tasks in phpBB including editing and deleting forum posts but will not be able to access your account and so cannot delete anything outside of cerain database entries in your forum content.

Something like the access that BlueHost has given me on this forum (which uses vBulletin rather than phpBB). I assis them in monitoring what goes on with the forum but have no access to anything else at BlueHost (apart from my own account).

Make an ftp account to the folder he needs access to.

Backup the folder first?
