Joomla Installation Nightmare

Hi. I just opened an account here b/c heard so many good things from other Joomla users. (I currently have two other Joomla sites on another server. I'm thinking of transferring them here) I installed Joomla using Fantatsico. So far so good. However, when I went to my Joomla Admin panel I was greeted by:

(1) a panel with no images loading
(2) no menu bar (can't install templates, modules, components etc.)
(3) when I tried to save something nothing happens.

Any idea whats going on? The only thing I can think of is that I may have to change site url to the temporary one I am curretly using. If someone can help me get the admin panel up and running by tomorrow I would be incredibly grateful!

Changing the URL in the Joomla panel to whatever you are currently using should fix the problem, I made a similar mistake the other day with a Wordpress installation, if the domain in the panel of Wordpress doesn't match the domain in use it causes all sorts of weird problems, I imagine the same problems would also occur when using Joomla.

If your domain hasn't propogated yet you can add an entry into the hosts file on your computer for your computer to use to attach the correct domain name to the folder while you are testing.
