Hi, I'm new to the more technical aspects of websites. I'd like to add a private (password-protected) file sharing page to my site. My files are fairly large, up to 150mb each. I'd like for people to be able to upload their own files and download any file on the page. File sharing, really.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for this? I've used iWeb to create my current website, so I'm not technically savvy. I'd love a template :D

Thanks, Holly.

Easiest approach would be to just set up an FTP folder that people could upload and download from.

Alternative would be to go to hotscripts.com and find a php alternative for file sharing.

Sorry for reviving an old thread, but I have a question concerning File Sharing.
Is it allowed on BH? I had a service previously and the way I worked it out was having a Terms of Service Agreement when uploading, Downloading and registering that stated the user responsible for uploaded material.

Would that still be allowed?

Thanks.

The TOS on BH prohibit you from storing copyrighted material on their servers. You are responsible for whatever gets uploaded to your space, so if that material violates the TOS, you may find your account summarily suspended or terminated. In short, don't do it.
