Mail forwarder is case-sensitive?

I set up forwarders for:

ABC_Info@mydomain.com -> bill@gmail.com
ABC_info@mydomain.com -> joe@gmail.com

Joe never gets the forwarded mail. I fixed this by changing ABC_info to ABC_Info.

I thought that e-mail addresses were NOT case sensitive...
