How come I cannot import my 50MB database file via phpmyadmin?

I get an error every time regarding a time limit or the file being too big. What other way can I upload my database that will not time out with large database files or is there a way to upload it in increments?

I looked through all those articles and it didn't explain how to import a large sql file.
