I have already run this through the tech support guys and they did their best to help me with the problem. However, they determined that the problem was not on their side. They said it was something wrong with my ISP. I am not going to disagree with them on this, but I would like to get another perspective.
I am using Squirrel Mail (and thus, IMAP) to check my emails to my bluehost account. For the most part, it works fine. However, randomly it starts to time out. I say randomly only in that I do not know when it will happen specifically. But it happens -EVERY- day. Several times. The time outs get really annoying because it will sometimes take up to 5 minutes before it will load the webmail page, and it is a crap shoot as to whether it will actually finish loading or tell me that the IMAP connection timed out (or was dropped).
The reason I don't believe it is my ISP is because it happens to me no matter where I connect from. Whether I connect from my office, my home, or my school (three completely separate ISPs), I will get these timeouts. And they mostly occur in the afternoon/evening.
Has anyone encountered anything like this before? Or does anyone have any insight? I was told to take it up with my ISP, but since there are three separate ones I figured it would be quicker to see if anyone else had similar issues.
Thanks!
