Hi,

I'm a new costumer, and my question is:

If the server is down what can I do?... how can I solve the problem? or I have to contact to you?.. or there is an option in the panel?.. or what is the procedure for this?

Thanks

First, this is a user-to-user forum, not a BH support site, so you certainly wouldn't contact anyone here - we're just other users, and can't fix anything.

Second, you'll find that this doesn't happen very often. I don't think the server my account is on has been down in months.

If one of the servers is down, BH is well-aware of that fact, and will be working to get it back up as fast as possible. These systems don't run on auto-pilot - they're monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

There's certainly nothing you can do about it yourself (you're sharing that server with about 450 other customers).

There's nothing in the cPanel that will help, since the cPanel is running on your server - if the server is actually down, you won't be able to get into the cPanel.

So, what to do? Usually, just wait, and try again a bit later. If you can actually login to the cPanel, it may just be one or two services on your server that are down. Scroll down, and click "Service Status - Click to View" on the left side, and look for anything that's "in the red."

Another option is the offsite status page, http://serverstatus.bluehost.com/. Enter your domain name there, and it will tell you if there are any known issues with the box your domain is on.

Finally, you can contact Live Chat (big blue button on the main bluehost.com page) to inquire. But if they're already working on the problem, contacting them will only slow them down.
