Transfer of domain name and mysql

I am transferring my domain name and thus will re install all my web pages with bluehost. In the meantime I was given a temporarly hosting adress untill my old account expires within 30 days. (I hope)
Q1:Can I use my sql database working using the temporarly supplied adress by bluehost or should I wait for complete transfer of domain name?
Q2:What will I use as Domain Host: in the sql setup? (temp. domain name or "localhost"

If you are using Windows on your computer you can always update the "hosts" file to redirect your domain to the new hosting just for you while you are checking that it all works without affecting anyone else.

Thank you for the replies and I have connected to the temporarly domain adress successfully. I pressume when my domain name is completely transfered to bluehost I will need to change the php files to accommodate the new domain adress which will change from the temporarly one.
Thinking of it how will the rest of the world know where my new isp is and will it still be directed to the new isp?
