Anyone have any resources on upgrading my 1.0 Fantastico install of joomla 1.0 on BH? I followed instructions from joomla forum and I get stumped at:
go to this link on your site: www.yoursite.com/installation/sql/mysql/diff.sql. "run that script" I go to the link with nec. revisions and get a page of code, no script to run.

What did I do wrong?

With a .sql extension that looks more like something you'd want to import into phpmyadmin rather than trying to run directly.

here's the instructions I followed:
Simples Way -
1. Use an FTP Client to delete all files on your server (except config.php), AFTER making a back-up of those files.
2. Make a back-up of your MySQL Databases
3. Use the FTP client to upload ALL files (except config.php) to your server where the files were before.
4. Go to this link on your site:
http://www.yoursite.com/installation/sql/mysql/diff.sql
And run that script
5. Delete the installation folder and install.php file in your server
6. Upload any files, extensions, templates that you had on your previous installation of Joomla! that you deleted earlier
7. Make sure your MySQL databases are in tact, if not, upload the back-up yuou made earlier of them.
8. You're Done!

I get this now as an error:
failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/accountnamel/public_html/damainaname/java/installation/includes/application.php on line 83

I solved my issues with a manual install from the CPanel and with the help from this link: http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,216309.0.html

Postscript:
Once I took advantage of the File Manager within cPanel and extracted Joomla! 1.5 the installation process was a breeze, just remember to ad the "yourmaindomainname"_user and "yourmaindomainname"_databasename in the window that require information about the MySQL data file you have set up, also within the cPanel.

Joomla! 1.5 is great, makes for a brilliant site with little effort, makes us newbies and eternal novices look like wizards. Check it out at http://www.joomla.org
