I registered a new domain and parked it to my website but it doesn't seem to be working. Before I contact Bluehost.com I was just wondering if there is normally a wait time before it starts to actually redirect it or might this be a problem on bluehost's end?

Did you enter it as a "parked" domain, or as an "addon" domain? A parked domain, by definition, is just a pointer to another, existing domain.
In either case, the domain has to propagate through the DNS system. Depending on the DNS servers your PC is pointing to, it could show up within minutes, or might take a couple of days.

I did park it to point to an existing domain..
Southeasterntufftrucks.net (Is my existing domain) and I parked Southeasterntufftruck.net to it.
Thanks for the quick reply. Hopefully it doesn't take a couple days :)

Some of the thousands of domain name servers on the web check for changes every few hours, most check for changes every one or two days, and a few only check for changes every week or two. The speed at which a domain name change becomes able to access a new location all depends on which of those thousands of domain name servers that a particular person trying to access the site actually uses. The time it takes for a site to become visible has nothing to do with the domain name itself or where the domain is hosted, only on the domain name server used for the lookup. Therefore a small percentage of people will see the domain straight away, most will see it in 24 to 72 hours, and a few will still not see it a week later. That's the way the web works for domain name changes.

Hopefully it doesn't take a couple days :)Stephen is correct. I use the OpenDNS (http://www.opendns.com) servers, and your new, parked domain is correctly pointing to the main domain already.

Not sure what service OpenDNS provides or how it makes money. Does it do something that we as bloggers and webmasters need and that BH does not provide?

OpenDNS provide domain name servers that you can use as an alternative to the ones supplied to you by whichever ISP you are using to connect to the internet. You don't necessarily need to consider changing to use openDSN instead of your ISP for the domain name servers unless your ISP is really slow at updating domain name changes. Of course if you are running windows you can always set up your domain to point directly at your site without needing it to use a domain name server at all by placing an entry in your "hosts" file.
Also useful for checking domain name setups is http://www.dnsstuff.com/ which has a number of tools to help you check how a domain is configured looking at it from a different location to where you are accessing it from.

In my case, the DNS servers of my ISP (Comcast) are notorious for failing to cough up the proper IP address for various websites. For a long time, Comcast users couldn't get to the Microsoft download pages because the Comcast DNS servers couldn't resolve the name!
OpenDNS makes money in sort of the same way Google does, by showing you ads and paid links if you point to a non-existent domain. In other words, if there's no registered domain, it turns into a search engine.
