Amount of files per directory

can we have more than 2,000 files per directory?

Does anyone know how to change these settings if it all possible? I am running a candy wrapper forum and I have a lot files, wrappers etc. that need to be loaded back into the files folder, but I am being limited to only 2,000 files.

I don't think that limit can be changed. The standard advice is to break things down into some logical sort of subdirectories (like a-d, e-h, etc.).

Actually I just wanted to let everyone know...

I got off live chat with tech support.

More than 2,000 files are supported, but only 2,000 will show up in an FTP program, weird I know, but the files seem to be there even though they will not show...

Yeah, that rings a bell. I think that may also be a limit within the cPanel File Manager (or maybe that's the one place where you actually can see all of them). Tough to manage your files when you can't see them!
