SSH not working

Hi, I'm new to SSH. I can't get it to work for some reason. (I have been approved for use)

I login to the CP, click SSH link, click either SSHTerm or Java Telnet, and from there it all goes screwy.

SSHTerm:
Brings up program. I hit File->New Connection->Advanced
I type in my domain, username, and hit enter.
"Could not establish connection with host."

Java Telnet:
Program and Authentification box both pop up. I enter username and password. States that I am connected in bottom left side. Has green light and "online" on bottom right side. I cannot type ANYTHING... it just sits there.

Any help anyone can give is appreciated.

I would suggest you download Putty (http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/)it is so much easier to use, I gave up on Bluehost's options, I couldn't even get them to load.

Or it could be that your box is down? I can't access mine at the moment box112?

I've tried Putty as well. Either I'm not doing something correctly or it's just not working.

I don't think my box is down... my website is currently still up - so my box should be up too, right?

Is there anything I need to know about configuring Putty correctly?

If our sites up your box is ok... As for setting it up you should just have to type your domain name and password and click on "open"

My settings are
SSH
I dont use the domain I use the actual box address ie 69.xx.xxx.112 (the 112 being my box no)
Port 22 as standard

and thats it, if there is anything else quirky needed? I'll have to throw this over to more experienced users.

Ok, I got Putty working for me.

Now I have a question. Does BH accept python commands? I am attempting to set up a Google sitemap as explained here:

If not, is there another sitemap generator that is easily set up for dynamic websites?

Nevermind... looks like a few trial and error runs got me through. I was able to generate the sitemap as instructed.
