box 112, says server load ok, but needs file repairs.
I keep trying to contact Live Chat to find out when we can expect our sites back up but it keeps "ending chat" on me. Any ideas on what would be happening there? Sorry, I am getting sorely p***ed
Out of curiosity (from the ones that know please) does this mean all our files are gone and they need to do a restore?
Server Load: ok

We are all users like you and know about as much as you. I doubt anyone here knows more than you do, other then first talking to support. I'd try calling.

mmm. thought about it, but not from Australia, that's whats so frustrating, I was hoping someone would have seen something like that before and be in the know from previous experience.
Does anybody know if there is a cap on how many times you can use Live Chat per day? I had been connected once. Then about 2 hours later tried again but it just keeps throwing me to a ticket (by the time I get a response to a ticket it will be back up - *cross fingers* )
Thanks

I doubt that there is a cap. Support is probably really busy and after a waiting period it puts you to the tickets. I'd just keep trying.

thanks got through, the trick is to NOT leave that lovely blue window until after it connects! 20.37 mins later got through.
Apparently box 112 is running through a file check and is hours away from being up... (late tonight) which is 4-5 hours from now at a guess.
Gardens and weeds here I come since I have a day free of the computer

Alright - here is what I found out via livechat - it looks as if we're in for a bit of a wait. :)

Mike [20:33]: my best guess is late tonight, it's going through a file system check and there are gigabytes upon gigabytes to be checked
jcrouse [20:35]: ok - so basically an fsck? I am hoping html / php data isn't going to be lost? Not sure how your hardware is configured (raid etc) so unsure of what to expect. Any clue (or hope you can give?)
Mike [20:35]: data integrity should be fine, i'm not familiar with the nitty gritty of it
jcrouse [20:37]: fantastic. I will relax my current state of panic just a bit (I have just done some major revisions and not downloaded an backup file lately! Shame I know). FYI - if you don't mind, I am going to post what you've told me to the forum - folks are starting to ask and panic, it might help quell the live chats.....
Mike [20:40]: our admins are very aware of it and will bring it back up as soon as everything is verified
jcrouse [20:41]: Fantastic. I will pass along the good news to the forum. Again, hoping to slow the live chat requests for you all let you concentrate on the task at hand. Thanks for the information.
Mike [20:43]: sorry i couldn't do more
jcrouse [20:45]: You've answered my question. I'll just have to be patient. These things happen. Now I just wish I could get the **** forum registration email to my other email acct. . . :)
jcrouse [20:45]: Thanks for your help.
Mike [20:45]: thanks for using chat

I'll be waiting patiently. :D

lol almost word for word what I got from Mike too, but I was too scared to ask about file integrity... I too have been working for the past week on re-writing two of my sites so I could switch to php5 and hadn't pulled a back up.. *slaps wrist*
thanks, instead of doing the gardening (keeps raining) I am setting up my google apps to switch my email over once and for all once it's back up, so I am being productive ;)

He seemed to think that files would be ok.
I am a little worried about the file integrity as well. Since we don't have any choice but to wait and they are not really being very specific about what the deal is.
Not sure if it is hardware related or just file structure. I feel a bit held hostage since I am usually hands on during these things. :D

mails back, sites up and everything looks ok... big sigh
although it's still saying "2008-01-03 21:35:22: File System Repair Required" on system alert
