Greetings. Me and a friend are sharing an account at BH for trial purposes. This comes after much research and consideration. We've been very happy up until this point. We are, however, now experiencing an interesting dilemma.
Problem: Cannot get the Add-On Domain feature to add a domain.
Situation: Domain hosted by GoDaddy. Nameservers pointing at NS1 & 2 for BH.
Action: Complete the Add-On Domain process through CPanel. Receive error to the effect that domain name already exists (???) and cannot be added.
I suspect that some of the problem might arise from the fact that I have private registration activated on the domain name.
Since the conventional Add-On function will not work, I attempt to verify ownership via the entering of the EPP CODE. Unfortunately, this only leads to a very ambiguous message about dropping my current registrar and transferring my domain to BH.
Before continuing, you must first delete the domain from the Losing Registrar [Go Daddy Software, Inc.] to receive a full refund from them. Or just try again in a couple months from now.
Here's where my problems begin to multiply...
I don't want to delete my domain from the "Losing Registrar [Go Daddy Software, Inc.]"
I don't want to receive any refund.
I don't want to try again in a few months.
And I don't want to transfer my domain (though that error message is quite motivating.)
As a point of fact, CPanel does graciously create the sub-domain every time I've tried this process (and I've removed the sub after every failed attempt.) However, it doesn't attach the domain name, which is the problem at hand.
Question:
Is this being held up as a security issue because ownership of the domain has not been established or is there another issue that I need to address from within CPanel?
I left out the relevant domain names and/or account info on purpose, but can provide that information via PM or other means to an appropriate person if it's needed. Other than that, I hope have provided enough of the details to properly explain the situation.
I apologize for such a lengthy post regarding this problem, but experience has taught me that, when asking for help, the more details that are provided the easier it is for someone else to advise the best course of action.
Thank you for your time.
