I was curious if there was a listing in the Cpanel that gave the DNS configuration. I am looking to do DNS management of one of my domains manually, but I need to know the web server and mail server details.

Yup - most DNS management has to go through support.

Takes time as they're currently not able to keep their 24h service (earlier it could happen within the hour), and the guys need to be spoonfed to avoid misunderstandings.

They have an unreliable option to setup your MX entries. It used to work fine but lately works every now and then and support has not been able to address the issue.

My advice would be to only setup the free main domain with Bluehost, maybe create a new one if you have a lot of DNS configs on your existing domain.

Then setup all other domains elsewhere and do Cname records to point to bluehost and when you do add-on domains.

Only use the Bluehost DNS servers if you plan to use Bluehost for all services. That is you don't plan at all to edit the DNS records. (Like setting up Google Apps etc.)

Surely Bluehost DNS management currently sucks, that's the only area where they fall through for me. What bothers me is that it's not evident if they plan to fix it.

They are working on a DNS fix with fastdomain.com, which is their official domain registered, which they own as well.

When it's completed, you will be able to login to fastdomain and do all those changes, kind of like godaddy, but much better.

Not sure on an ETA.

I've also heard from support (almost ever since I signed up) that they're working on a fix, and that things will be better. But yes ... that ETA has never been indicated. :-)

so better keep DNS management elsewhere for now if you need to edit manually.
