Hi all, I've googled my head off looking for a host that offers postini with a good hosting plan. How is Postini working for you?

Bluehost was highly recommended for a long time but seems to have lots of negative posts lately due to upgrade issues and of course the CEO blog and responses worried me? Is everything reliable now? Speedy, reliable sites & email etc. I'll be hosting a not-too-difficult site (flat with some php elements in there) but not a hog by any means. Email will have to be extremely reliable. I want to add postini to a few accounts and have the regular spam filter work the rest. I certainly don't want additional spam from what we already have and have heard of people going from ipower to bluehost getting lots more....

thanks in advance for any suggestions....

Stuff are returning to normal sort off. Some people still experiencing mail delays but nothing bad.

My sites were down for about half an hour while Apache was being upgraded. I have not had any adverse affects from the upgrade. Once I was sure that my sites were running okay on Apache 2.0 I then switched from PHP 4.4 to 5.2 which had no effect on anything on my sites at all (I did know before switching that all of my scripts would work on both PHP versions).

I have had no problems in the upgrade to Apache 2 and PHP 5. And I work on over a dozen sites hosted by Bluehost.

Postini works great. Email reliability is another story entirely.

BlueHost has recently been targetted by spammers who somehow managed to insert millions of spam emails into the outgoing mail queues resulting in emails being sent from sites hosted with BlueHost being delayed significantly while BlueHost support attempted to clean up the spam.

As far as I am aware this has only happened once and was fixed within a day or so. Other people using BlueHost have mentioned ongoing issues with mail but that is the only occasion where I have noticed any impact.

With over 700 servers there may be times when there are issues that affect those hosted on one server that don't affect anyone else. When those on the server that is affected start posting about the problems they are having on the forum it can give the impression that there is a widespread problem where in fact only a small fraction of BlueHost accounts are actually impacted.

BlueHost isn't perfect but from my experience it is as near to that as any other host I've used. I've been running two accounts there for over three years with only very minor issues that have popped up once or twice.
