View Full Version : IMAP folder organization

I'm planning to change my BH email from POP to IMAP. Since I'm new to IMAP, I decided to create a test IMAP account to see how it works. When I did this I noticed that my mail client (Evolution) created three folders under the IMAP mail account: Inbox, Junk, and Trash. I also noticed that within the Inbox folder were three subfolders (Drafts, Sent, and Trash) that match folders on the IMAP server. I assume these subfolders (along with inbox) are the "subscribed" folders that stay synchronized with the imap server.

Organizationally, this seems a little confusing. I would rather have the subfolders (drafts, sent, and trash) at the same level as inbox, rather than inside it? Is there anyway to change this? My understanding is that this structure is set by the IMAP server (not the client).

Thanks for any feedback on this! :)
