Hi, i am new at this and seriously need help. After months of gruelling battle i finally finished developing my site on my local MAMP(Mac), XAMP(PC) and i want to migrate it on the bluehost server, since i joined them mainly cos of joomla hosting.

To cut long story short, I installed Joomla on the backend through fantastico, which installed fine and thought i would be able to ftp and swap out the files from my local and it would be fine, it isn't and Bluehost is not doing much in the way of helping, all they saying is pointing me to some service that i have to pay for again, after paying 2 years for them, and as a student i cant afford much..

So please, what am i doing wrong? i also dumped my database but still no help, is there a script i should be changing around to point somewhere

Has anyone had to do this, if so, what did you have to do, any little thing helps, please, in dire straits right now as i am madly behind on my project.

Thanks in advance

From what I have read on these forums, fantastico is not the best way to go since the versions may not be the latest and you will need to upgrade your install anyway, which may be part of the problem. Take a peek at the version on your localhost and the version on bluehost and seee if they are the same, that might be contributing to the problem. If you download Joomla and do an install from scratch to something like:
/home/your_account_name/www/joomla/
You should be ok. Of course make sure your usernames and PWD's are the same for your database users in the configs so there aren't any issues with joomla conecting to the bluehost database. You may also want to go to your control panel and look at the error logs , might provide a little insight.
