I don't want public ftp access. How do I remove the public_ftp directory in my listing. I want to do it with the control panel to make things are consistent instead of just removing it with through my ftp program or command line.
The "ftp accounts" manager seems to have more than just ftp in there - like "anonymous@mydomain" and "ftp@mydomain" and "mydomain". Not too clear.

In your cPanel, go to the files section and then anonymous FTP. Then uncheck the box "Allow anonymous access to ftp://ftp.domain.net".

OK. Thanks. I did that. But that does not remove the "public_ftp" directory from /home/mydomain/
I suppose I could just delete it with my ftp access but I am afraid it might cause an inconsistency somewhere.

Having an empty folder there that no one can access and which cpanel needs to be there in order for it to function properly is not going to hurt anything as no one but you will know that it is there. If you delete the folder then those cpanel functions that expect the folder to be there will break (and who knows what parts of cpanel that will be).
