others can see my site but i cant

I can ping it with ip and tracert it as well. I cannot ping it with the name of the site. I uploaded a template to there just to see if i am doing everything right. ISP claims its not them and BH claims its not them. Everyone else can see my site, called a friend and they can see the site when, I cant from my computer. Does anyone have any ideas?

I can see it with no problems, too. I suspect your ISP is using a DNS server that's a little slow to get updated. It should fix itself within a couple of days.

Two things you can try, to improve the situation. First, call up a command window and flush your DNS cache. Start, Run, type cmd, hit Enter. Then, in the black window that opens up, type ipconfig /flushdns, and hit Enter. Close the window, launch your browser again, and see if you can get to your site.

Second, switch to using the OpenDNS servers, instead of your ISP's (I've been doing that for years). There are instructions on the OpenDNS site (http://www.opendns.com) - for WinXP through a cable modem, it's Start, Control Panel, Network Connections, Local Area Connection, the General tab, Properties, the General tab, Internet Protocol, Properties, the General tab, then tell it to use the following DNS servers: 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 (leave the IP address set to automatic).

By the way, the images aren't showing up on your site because the src calls are all pointing to your C: drive. So, you can see them, but no one else can!

Thanks, I have not uploaded everything yet. I need to upload the images. I took my laptop to another location, I could see the page there. thanks for the help.
