Hey bluehosters,
Just interested to hear if anyone here is from Canada? I'm in the last year of my Bachelor of Computing degree, and I'm planning on heading to Canada in December this year for 6-12 months! My aim is to get some where near the Rockies so I can go skiing and eventually in the summer mtb. I would really appreciate if any Canadians would be interested in giving me their email address, so I can find out more about the great country and what the best way is to get a job!
Any info on living in Canada would be great!!
Cheers,
Sam
I wish I was going there
If you get a chance and take some photos post them on my site.
good luck

I am from Toronto. Canada is pretty cool, but then again so is OZ.
The country is beautiful, but you have to be aware of what winter is really like to have reasonable expectations and enjoy it. BC coast is the only mild place in winter.
Consider taking a train through the Rockies. It is one of the most beautiful journeys on earth. Start in BC to Alberta or vice versa.
Visit Okanagen valley in BC. Nice place.
If you are crossing the prairies do it by car. They are way too big to drive or train through unless you cannot be bored.
Consider visiting Ontario or Quebec in the autumn. Fall colours (when deciduous trees turn red and gold) are also great. THis is the best time of year (Septemberish) in those parts.
The maritimes are also unique. Very folkie with an auld countrie (Scottish) feel. Halifax is a great town in summer.
Enjoy your visit !

Thanks for the reply, I'll certainly keep all of that in mind. Just found out my brother has a connection in whistler, so I may be spending the ski season there :)
Cheers,
Sam

I'm in Ontario Canada. In the heart of the Niagara Region.
One of Canada's wine regions....
As for jobs, you'd need to set things up to make sure you're eligible to work while here.
These two sites have the information. Somewhere in there.

Hope that helps. Enjoy your time here in Canada, but don't go into Stanley Park at night. :D
