Alignment difference in Firefox and IE

I am having a problem with vertical alignment difference in Firefox and IE. Everything is great in Firefox, but IE show shorter background div and I can't seem to get the bottom navigation alignment right.

I'll appreciate any suggestions - have no idea what to do,

are you doing the clearfix? been a while since i've done this, but i think this stuff happens in ie whenever you don't have "clear: both;" for a div.
