A member of our group recently moved one of our sites over to Bluehost as the server we were on told him that he had too many files on his site. He contacted Bluehost and was told that he could have an umlimited number of files on the Bluehost server. Now his site has been disabled because 'of the number of files on the site'.
When we needed to create an additional site, I chose Bluehost for the same reason. This new site could conceivably have over 80,000 files.
Does Bluehost put a limit of the number of files you have have or not?

I don't think there is a limit with regard to the number of files in an account but there is a limit on the number of files in a directory. I don't know what that is, off the top of my head. Check with BH support through Live Chat to get a firm answer.

There is a 2000 file per directory limit in that the rest of the files can't be listed when you use some of the utilities.

I have heard of sites with 1,000,000 files being asked to find alternate hosting because it added 24 hours to the recovery time after a server problem.
