I don't want to be on the same c block or set of servers as my current domain for a domain I just purchased.

How do I get a new C block for the new domain? Thanks.

You will have to check with BH - this is a user-to-user forum. Go to the BH home page and click on Live Chat to speak with support.

I don't believe that is possible, unless you have signed up for two seperate hosting accounts. :)

Do you think it's necessary to have two different C blocks?

Here's my problem.. i have one domain that is a travel blog.. but the most popular post is a post on spider bites. consequently a lot of my search engine traffic is spider bite-oriented - and not travel.. and I think it affects the way search engines categorize my blog.

So.. i'm thinking I'll 301 the one post to the new domain with the content from the original post.. but would it be better to be on a different c block? are the search engines going to care?

SEO advice welcome.

Search engines (at least all the major ones) don't take IP Addresses into consideration when ranking a site. (They don't care where it's located, just what is on it - unless it's a known spam IP.)

So it really doesn't matter whether they are on a different C block or not. It doesn't even matter what individual server they are hosted on. :)

Do you think it's necessary to have two different C blocks? It should be completely irrelevant. Search engines care about content, not the trivial details of IP addresses, as long as the two sites aren't heavily interlinked.
