In a reply to another thread in this forum, Steve Alligood said:

"On the bright side, if you have a dedicated IP address and your own cert, OR used the proxy SSL stuff that is setup for all customers to use, you would not have seen this. This means that anyone intentionally using SSL would not have had someone else's site show up."

I am working on the SSL issues right now, trying to get ZenCart up and running, but I can't afford additional fees right now. I have an ebook I am working hard at getting on the internet for sale, and more on the way. So my question is: What is the proxy SSL stuff that is setup for all customers to use? Where are instructions and how does it work? I have searched everywhere, and all I can find are references to a dedicated IP address and Private SSL certificates. Yes, I will take that step, but I can't do it right now. I need an interim fix.

Thank you,
N

Did you look under cPanel -> Security -> SSL/TLS Manager? Is this the information you need?

I believe that you need to purchase an SSL sertificate, but I could be wrong. :)

You can use the shared SSL cert on your box, but since the cert holder's name won't match your website name, browsers may complain about it, and users may be wary about trusting it. If you really want SSL, the dedicated IP/private SSL route is ultimately the only way to go.

Instructions for using the shared cert are here (http://helpdesk.bluehost.com/kb/index.php?x=&mod_id=2&id=143).

Thank you for the help. I thought maybe I had missed something.

It sounds like I need to come up with a little extra money and do the dedicated IP and SSL certificate. I was hoping I could delay that just a little bit, but it sounds like that is probably the best way to do this.
