Is there anyway to include the senders name or email in From or Subject line in Mailman? If so I can't find it.
I set up a small list that is open to all members to post to. Problem is that who is it from is not showing. So we don't know how is replying unless they add their sig. or name.

Part of the concept of an email group is privacy. You don't have to give your email address to everyone else in the group because all emails just go to the group address and are distributed from there.
Many groups have a rule that specifies that peoples names have to appear in their signature on all posts to the group so that the poster can be identified.

Yes: Administration-tool-webpage > Configuration Categories > [General Options] >
- Hide the sender of a message, replacing it with the list address.
(Removes From, Sender and Reply-To fields) No__ Yes__
...select 'No' and the email address should show.
We recently went through this with mailman.
If I remember correctly it can ONLY be configured to include the senders address in the 'from' or NOT.
This can be listwide or each user can choose in user-configuration.
That is it... unfortunately. Seems like mailman could have an option to require each user to supply a unique list username which would be included somewhere in their message possibly in the 'from:' , that would make sense...
In the meantime there are some things that can be done to help with this like:
- The address can be semi-disguised to hide from bots.
eg: 'sender at oursite.org' ...instead of... sender@oursite.org
- The archives can be made private which would require users to supply password
to view.
These days many people have trash email accounts just for this purpose. (hotmail, etc)
We ended up supplying trash email accounts for our group members who were concerned about the privacy issue. If they would rather not have to check this email account we can create a forward to their preferred account.
kind of a pita...

I think that's it unfortunately. Too bad too. Seems like mailman could have an option to require each user to supply a username (which it could check for uniqueness)
