Installing gzip backups

I was attempting to configure zen cart when my site became completely inactive. I want to go back to a previous gzip backup I created using a zencart plugin but I can't figure that out. I would go through the admin panel but its not accessible due to an error.

If i know where the file is located how do i install it?
