Hello everyone,
I am new to bluehost and I am not a web designer or a coder. I need to set up an ftp account for a web designer but don't know how to do so. Can anyone walk me through it step by step please.
Thanks for your help.

Bluehost is one of those amazing companies that puts almost all the information you could ever need into their helpdesk articles.
http://helpdesk.bluehost.com/kb/index.php?x=&mod_id=2&id=7
1. Login to your control panel http://yourdomain.com/cpanel/
2. Choose 'FTP Accounts'
3. Enter a Login: username
4. Enter the Password: twice
5. Choose the Directory you'd like them to have access to.
Note: If you leave the directory blank or enter '/' it will put them at the root of your hosting account where they have access to all your files. Usually the path is public_html/ for the main/primary domain and public_html/addondomain for an addon domain.
If you need to know how to then give a link to someone to be able to use FTP with, please look at this article: http://helpdesk.bluehost.com/kb/index.php?x=&mod_id=2&id=449

Reverend,
Thanks for your reply. I did find that bit of information in the help section. My problem is that I don't know which directory to select to give a web designer access to my files only. I don't know what to put in the directory space.
Seems like most on the forum don't want to help with what seems to be very basic but there are some of us who don't know the basics.
Thanks for trying to help a non-coder, non-designer newbie.:)

What amount of access do you want him to have?
If you only have one domain on your account, do you want him to have access to the root of the domain (IE: full access to the website files)? If so, set the directory to public_html.
If you only want him to have access to a specific part of your site, a blog for example, give him access to public_html/blog (that is example information, please replace /blog with the directory you want him to have access to).
If you're giving him access to an addon domain: public_html/addondomain
And so on.
