Our blog is run by a group. The person who managed all the techie stuff has a full-time job and a really ill baby, so I can't bug her.
I've been trying to do the upgrade and everything went smoothly until I got to this part:
Using a web browser, go to the WordPress admin pages at the normal /wp-admin location. WordPress will check to see if a database upgrade is necessary, and if it is, it will give you a new link to follow.
This link will lead you to run the WordPress upgrade script by accessing wp-admin/upgrade.php. Follow the instructions presented on your screen.
Note: Make sure the database user name registered to WordPress has permission to create, modify, and delete database tables before you do this step. If you installed WordPress in the standard way, and nothing has changed since then, you are fine.
I'm not sure what they are talking about or where to go. If my techie person created an account, do I have to use the same one?
Thanks. Sorry to be so stupid.
Figured it out. I thought they meant the general WordPress Pages. The instructions actually mean to go and log into your own blog, at which point any remaining stuff that needs changing will be changed. I've noticed before that there is a tendency among the WordPress folk to assume that everyone knows ALL of their particular jargon. sigh...
