public_html -Domain v sub domain

Hi,
I don't want to mess with my main domain yet because I don't want to mess up.
I decided to install wordpress to my sub-domain and mess about in there till I get the hang of it.

Question: When I upload the ftp files should I upload them to the general public_html or direct them to the sub-domain folder where the Wordpress is installed.


I think I might just use Wordpress in my main domain as well so would installing the files only in the sub-domain mean I would have to do another upload later to the public_html?

If you have the WP installed on the sub domain for testing purposes, I would upload the files to your sub domain folder.

If you plan on installing WP on your domain, you're most likely going to have to upload the files twice. Unless after you've done your testing you might be able to move some of the files from pub_html/subdomain to pub_html.
