I just signed up with bluehost, and am in the process of installing Wordpress so I can move my blog, and I get this message-

Warning: This directory contains at least 37 files that may be overwritten if you install here. (ex. 400.shtml, 401.shtml, 403.shtml)

Then I click on install anyway, and I get-

The directory you requested to install within does not seem to be empty! Continuing this installation WILL OVERWRITE any conflicting files, which MAY BREAK your website.

Are you absolutely sure you want to do this?

Why?- I'm stumped.

Many people tend to overlook or ignore the first warning. Prior to the second warning being implemented, SimpleScripts had several upset customers who had failed to review all the information on the page, and were left with broken websites.

All things being said, SimpleScripts is quite friendly in the sense that it warns you about the chance files will be overwritten. Myself, I've opted to put my fantastico/ss installs in their own paths and link to them from a landing page, instead of having anything in the main folder. Seems safer that way.
