elgg social networking script

Hi,

I am planning to install "Elgg" social networking script. Two of their requirement are:

1) The Apache web server needs to be installed with the following modules: mod_rewrite

2) PHP 5.2+ needs to be installed as an Apache module (not in CGI mode or safe mode) with the following libraries: GD (for graphics processing, eg user icon rescaling) & JSON (for API functionality)

How do I set my account to the above requirements?

I have personally installed elgg before as well as spoken with others who have.
It works fine with Bluehost servers.
