Joomla Overwrite

So I want to install Joomla with Simple Scripts, but when I tried to install it I got a warning about overwriting files. Is this OK; how can I get Joomla working safely ?

Don't install joomla in your main public_html folder. Create a new folder, like public_html/joomla/ for example, and install joomla there. Then you won't have to worry about overwriting any files.

If your site is new (empty), then you do not have to worry about the overwrite warning.
