Hi all, it's been awhile since I've been here. I've done a few things to my long-neglected blog and have some questions.
1. I updated Wordpress via Fantastico. This caused me to lose my Google ads. So I installed a plug-in for Adsense and copied/pasted ads in it. The plug-in only seems to place sidebar ads, though; I don't see how to enter a horizontal top banner. So I installed a horizontal top banner manually. Was that the correct way to go about it, or was there a way to do it via the plug-in?
2. About the ads. My blog is about writing, but the ads on the main page are always about cats and crystal beads. The ads on the "About" page are relevant to content, and even the ads on the 404 (deleted) pages are relevant to the blog's new content. So why not the ads on the main page? BTW, will those 404 pages ever go away, and is there a way to remove the ads from them? I'm not sure if Google allows 404 page ads, but whether they do or not, those ads were set globally, so I don't know how to manually remove them!
3. I'm trying to set up a Wordpress guestbook. I'm instructed to enter the page ID number. On the old Wordpress version, I easily found the page ID number on Manage Pages. Supposedly that's where it should be on the newer version, too, but it isn't. All I see is a checkbox for "delete" next to each page listing. Why is there no Page ID number there?
Thanks for any insight!
