installing Wordpress with simple scripts

hi,
Yesterday, i've created a new hosting account on Bluehost and create a new domain named "tabu-tabu.com".
Today i would like to install Wordpress using the Simple Scripts method.
When i click on the "install now" button for wordpress , i'm unable to go to the step 2.
I've an error message "Server Auto-Configuration Failed" and it displays some solutions ! But i'm unable to solve it!
Anybody can help me ?

Chances are, this is where your problem lies. If you have pointed (redirected) your domain to a website or hosting account outside of the one you are using for this installation, we won't be able to install anything on this account. Your webhost may provide an 'alternate access URL' to your account, of which we are probably already aware and have tried. If at all possible, point your domain name to this hosting account, and we will continue as normal.

You may be Redirecting traffic elsewhere.
You may have a 'hard redirect' setup through your host's control panel, or by using a '.htaccess' file or similar. Try renaming or deleting this file from your account to remove the redirect.

Your FTP root directory may not exist.
This directory, called your 'FTP Root', is where all of your publicly available folders and files live. Common locations for this are "public_html", "httpdocs", "www", "htdocs", and assorted others. Check with your webhost to make sure one of these folders exists on your account.

Your domain is protected by password authentication.
If you require a password to access your entire domain (not just one section), we cannot bypass that security. For the duration of the installation, please deactivate that authentication. Installation takes only a few seconds, and if you must deny access, try putting an 'Access Denied' page up or set your domain to 'Maintanance Mode'. Your host can further assist you if you have any questions about this.

It takes up to three days for 99% of domain name servers to pick up the change to where a domain name's hosting is (and up to a month for the remaining 1%). Depending on which domain name server you are using as the one you connect through (either the one provided by your ISP or an alternative one that is available for anyone to use) you might have your hosting available through the domain name in just a few minutes or if your ISP is really lazy you might have to wait up to a month for the domain name to resolve on their server.

You can override this by directly mapping the domain name to the correct IP address in the hosts file on your own computer so that the domain name lookup gets done before passing the request to your ISP.

Your site throws a 403 (forbidden) error, this is most likely from something in the .htaccess file. If there is anything in that file you can post it here for review.

It might also be that the permissions for public_html are not 755, though this is fairly unlikely unless you have changed them yourself.

I do not believe that this is a DNS issue.

i've uploaded a file with a subfolder and when i try to reach the file i've still a 403 error message

Try renaming the .htaccess file to be .htaccess.old
Then, try installing again using Simple Scripts.

I am attempting a basic install of Wordpress and decided to try the Simple Script, and got the same "Server Auto-Configuration Failed" error.

I registered my domains with Bluehost, but to confirm, I pinged the domain and it matches the IP address identified in the Bluehost account summary so I doubt it's a DNS issue.

I actually preferred a manual installation and my files have been uploaded to the root directory, public_html. Attempting to run the installation script: http://example.com/wp-admin/install.php, I get: "Internal Server Error: The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request."

I've tried deleting and reinstalling the WP files at the root level. I've checked permissions (755). I've created a 2nd MySQL db and user, modified the WP-config file with no luck so far.

I'm surprised by the trouble getting this installed given I am starting with a fresh BH account.

I agree - that shouldn't be happening. You might want to get on Live Chat (big blue button on the main bluehost.com page) with the support guys. If there's something wrong with SimpleScripts, they really need to know about it.

yeah, I'm "live" right now, but not much activity from the support support end--i'll post any findings.

turned out to be the htaccess file. I saw that tip in searching the forums. Somewhere I lost track of the idea, and how to see hidden files.

Would anyone care to offer up some background on the issue? The problem is fixed, it's good to get a little smarter in the process. thanks.

I think you have to name servers that are going to actually host your domain. Get the info from your provider and copy+paste the names in their required location. Hope this helps! http://images.mydetaileddetail.com/img/653/h08z1005tebx/smile.gif
