If you've uploaded an index.html to your public_html folder, you should delete any "default.htm" you find in that folder.
Did you register a domain with BH? I'm getting nothing on studenx8.com, even from OpenDNS, which usually sees even newly-registered domains within minutes.

Fix the permissions of your .htaccess file from 600 to 644.

Problem here is that i bought an .hu domain name and i cant transfer this domain to bluehost. However i asked the registerar company to forward the domain name tp bluehost's DNS servers. But until i do that, i should be able to use the temporary link but thats not working.
I will try fixing the permissions, but i hope it doesnt do anything bad, please advice...
Early out, my domain name is not studenx8.com, i just posted the temporary link there.

You should probably just hit Live Chat (big blue button on the main bluehost.com page), and get the support guys to look at your account, instead of groping around in the dark. They can see your files, and will be able to fix whatever is wrong very quickly.

The .htaccess file is under public_html, but the regular File Manager won't show it. Try Control Panel, Legacy File Manager. When the little box pops up, make sure that the radio button for "Web Root" is selected, and "Show hidden files" is checked, then hit Go. Then click on .htaccess, and choose "Change Permissions," on the right.

I'm amazed that after 3 years Bluehost still creates a new account with .htacess file set to 600 instead of 644. I just logged into my web client's account this morning and couldn't browse index.html or default.html because the .htacess file had the wrong permissions.
How common a mistake is this for Bluehost accounts?
I'm not impressed.

How common a mistake is this for Bluehost accounts?
I would suspect that it is not very common given the millions of accounts and that it appears to have only happened to two accounts in the last three years.
Also to the best of my knowledge my site didn't have a .htaccess file until I created it and if that is in fact the situation then it is the actual account owners who have used the wrong settings on the file when THEY created it.
