Registrar and domain question

I know that Bluehost uses the FastDomain registrar. I am thinking of moving to another host and I was wondering if I would have access to manage my domain after I switch. I could switch the nameservers to the new host, however after my Bluehost account expires I want to be able to have access to all those options and I'd rather not have to pay to transfer my domains to a new registrar.

So, in short, is there any way I can manage my domains after my bluehost account expires when I still own my domains?

I don't think they have the control panel for that set up yet.

Anyway it doesn't cost anything to transfer domains from one registrar to another - the fee you pay when you move the domain would need to be paid at some time between now and the end of the current period you already have the domain registered for to extend it for another year whether you move the domain or not. Either way when you pay it you get the extra year added to the end of the period it is registered for.

I'd suggest clicking on the Bluehost 'Live Chat' button and asking there. If they don't have the answer themselves, I'm quite sure that they'll be able to give you a link to FastDomain's support folks.

It's my understanding that FastDomain, HostMonster, and Bluehost are all now just three different divisions within the same company. They may be handling support for all three through the same support system.
