Why do I need "www" prefix?

Having some odd behavious.

I have there sub-domains:

http://twitter.k-maps.com
http://internetmarketing.k-maps.com

and

http://alexgoodall.k-maps.com

All work fine - EXCEPT that

http://internetmarketing.k-maps.com give an error (cannot find the site).

But

http://www.internetmarketing.k-maps.com works just dandy!

WHY would that be?

Since they both point to the same place the only reason for any difference would be changes you made to the page in between one getting cached and your using the other. Clear your cache and they should both behave the same.
