I had some trouble getting mod_rewrite working with a SimpleScripts installation of WikkaWikki to get me nice cruft-free URLs.
I used these instructions (http://docs.wikkawiki.org/ModRewrite) to set them up.
I then had to rename htaccess.txt to .htaccess.
