View Full Version : No domain-based emails

Hi all,

Any help would be greatly appreciated:
I used to have a domain-based email address (info@domainname etc.) which worked fine, but suddenly all emails were returned as undeliverable.
The only thing I can link to this fault if it's at all relevant, is that it occurred after I changed to a new domain name host.
My webmaster at the time tried whatever she could, but I have never been able to link emails to my domain since. I have to use a gmail address to guarantee I'll get any mail.
Does anyone have any idea where I could look to find the glitsch? Sorry but I'm a newbie...
Fir whatever it's worth: the DNS servers are in NZ, the current domain name hosts are in Canada, and bluehost now hosts my site...
Thx heaps for any responses.

Do your DNS nameservers point to the BlueHost nameservers? They should be referencing ns1.bluehost.com and ns2.bluehost.com. Then, you need to be sure to add your email address through the cPanel interface. BH does not allow catch-all accounts so all email must be sent to valid addresses that you create.

Thx redsox9,

Yes, the DNS servers are all OK.
Before I set up in cPanel, presumably I would also need to re-do the webpage, remove the gmail address, and reinstate the original email..?
Do I have to know Dreamweaver or a similar pogram (too hard for me...), or is there a simple newbie way to edit HTML via bluehost software/tutorials/help file?
I appreciate your time.

Once changed the host means the name servers are changed. So sure mail server should automatically pointed to the the new host . SO better check with blue host technical support
