phpbb forum transfer

folks, we are currently attempting to move phpbb forum from another host. The way we do it, by copying and pasting script sql txt strings for last few days, gives results, and forum is showing up, but veeeeery sloooowly.

Wonder if there is faster way to make sql file functional? Any hints?

Do you have an export of the .sql database? If you upload the exported .sql file to your Bluehost server, I can help you import it (will take a few minutes).

I just did this last week when I moved over to bluehost. Here's a link to an article that I followed step by step, it's directly from phpBB's forum:

It worked perfectly for me, but be sure to do all of the steps. Most importantly running the "Update_to_latest.php" program that phpBB provides to fix up the MySQL database.

If you send an email to support@bluehost.com, and list the database you want it imported to, where the .sql is located, and the last 4 digits of the credit card on the account for security purposes I'll import that to you. Just mark the subject Import Database.

Guys we managed to transfer forum after few nites, and it is up now. Thanks for support and links. There was a problem with codepage since some people used other than english alphabet as it was possible at original host. BH is great host!!!
