I am looking for someone, in the US, who might be willing to help me get a blog going on my website with wordpress, and who knows how to add a theme which can be downloaded from wordpress.com. My website is not yet completed, but it's ready enough to be previewed - it is a flash website - totally animated, interactive, and is a visual treat! There's nothing like it on the www that I have ever seen, and this may be a starting point for the right person to get involved. I do not know how to do coding, phb, css, or anything and have proved to myself that I do not have the capacity to understand or absorb it! In fact, a fellow in North Carolina (I live in Ohio) has been doing all the mechanicals on it and uploading it for me. If any of you want to contact me about getting involved, please use the contact form on the website to do so and we can communicate from there. Once you enter the store (this is a website for artists - I have done all the graphics) you can click on the footer sign for View Directories but, as long as you're there take the time to look around - I'm sure you'll agree that this is breaking new ground in website design! http://www.parkavenueartisans.com

HI I just checked out your store and yes, the physical store navigation thing is kind of neat. Much like virtual tradeshows which have been around a few years.

Unfortunately there is too little content right now. I hope you manage to attract some critical mass very quickly because right now it is quite frustrating to creep around looking for something that is actually real content. Internet users tend to want fast results and immediate access to what they want...things to consider in your design perhaps. I realize you have sacrificed these features for a more engrossing user experience, but it might be worthwhile to market research the validity of this decision with some unbiased observers.

As for adding wordpress blog to your site it isn't hard. Just go to your control panel at BH, go to software section and select "simple scripts". A menu will display which includes wordpress...click it and the install process will guide you the rest of the way. Styles can be imported into WP through the menu within the package so it is not difficult to do.

If you don't want to learn how to do things on your own (and I get it, many artists do not want to divert the time) find a local techie to work with. Your requirements are not very challenging - a college or even high school student with a bent to the web should be able to help you. You should NOT have to pay serious money for little things like installs and CSS tweaks.

Good luck ! And when you want to publicise I can suggest you add a link in our free artists directory (http://www.artistsinoils.com) perhaps under galleries/ dealers category.
