I'm still within my refundable 30 days. I did not pay nearly $100 for a year's worth of server outages. This had better not be a trend.

It's nice that I got a quick response from support and a speedy resolution. Still. I am concerned that this is not one but a series of problems, and I'm getting the idea from other posts that this may be the beginning of a trend...

I have 2 sites here, my second not quite up and running yet. They have had some issues lately (like the last 2-3 days) but up to that point I had no complaints.

We're hoping for "just a rocky patch" rather than "the beginning of a trend." The problems I've seen have all been different and unrelated, so it may just be a case of bad luck coming in bunches - the sudden loss of a name server, a server software bug, a DDOS attack, a couple of big power outages, etc.
If the next outage is caused by a plague of locusts, however, we might start looking to some other causes. ;)

Man I must be the lucky one then. I have never encountered what people are talking about. How do you know your site is down, can you just not access it or something. I am on my 2 sites pretty much 24-7 and one I have had here for over 1 1/2 yr with no problems.
Not calling anyone liars, but do you think it might be your ISP also? I mean a loss in connection or computer bottlenecking could make it seem like your site is down. Just an idea?

How do you know your site is down, can you just not access it or something. The first tip-off for me is the inability of Outlook to find the mail server.

Just an idea? No, not when you can't get into the cPanel, and when you finally do, the server status is a sea of red dots. And none of us imagined the DDOS attack, or the power outages, or the name server going down, or the software bug, each of which has been acknowledged by BH.

This is all news to me, I never heard about any of this until I came on this forum. I must truely be lucky then. I have not experianced any problems, and I am not just saying that. If I had I wasn't aware of it and it wasn't a big deal. None of my memebers on my forum ever mention anything on their ends. You know members are the first to tell you when something is broke too... LoL. Hence this board as an example. Was everyone affect or just a select unlucky few?

I was suprised by all these people complaining about downtime, so I wrote a script, and put it on my host to see how much my server goes down. I put it on just over a week ago. Guess how long its been up?
Server Uptime: 7 days, 4 hours and 20 minutes

This definitely sux! I'm frustrated at having just renewed, and now all this crap. I'm frustrated with the lame tech support group and their blaming it on the software. It worked just fine up until all the Denial of Service attacks and all these power outages.

Unpossible.
I'm kidding. :D
I've been relatively lucky as well. Even with the outages (and yes, the past couple of power outages have knocked my site out for a couple of hours), it hasn't gotten me down any at all. Out of all of the other hosts I've been with and tried, I'm very satisfied with Bluehost.

Strange coincidence.. I have the exact same thing but I didn't write it myself.
