AssaultCube is an Open Source Multiplayer FPS. I can, of course, host a "server" on my PC, but I want to avoid that by using my bluehost account that I paid for.

I can, of course, upload all the files neccessary to run the program, but how would I initiate the program to begin running?

More Specifically, i can easily double click the "assault cube" icon on my Desktop. What is the equivalent of remotely initiating an installation and running the program on my website?

My hosting on BH is linux based, if that helps at all.

Unless the software is designed to run on a web server then you can't run it on your hosting because all you get access to on the hosting is the web server.

Something like this would absolutely be against the TOS for several reasons. Only websites and files that pertain to your websites may be hosted on the servers.

By the way, in most cases, you cannot run Windows programs on Linux.

Well if it were designed to run on a web server then the output would be web pages and so wouldn't breach the ToS. It probably would exceed CPU limits though.

The server is Linux based, but not via a webpage... Browsing through the forums, I found that this would in fact breach ToS, as bluehost is designed for webhosting, not a dedicated server running a multimedia gaming application...

I still have need for BlueHost as a webhost, but I puchased a year subscription so I can also run Assault Cube.

Eh, a slight waste of cash, but oh well...

If anyone knows of a Host that will allow me to run a Linux Based Dedicated Game Server (Or if BlueHost offers that service) Lemme know...

Thanks guys for your prompt and timely response. Usually a question like this would result in being burned by flames, but this community is outstanding. Thanks again....
